Thermal pools in Poland/ Piscinas termales en Polonia

The best idea to relax during the polish winter is a visit in thermal pools in Podhale – the southern part of Poland, in the foothills of the Tatra Mountains. In a picturesque town of Bukowina Tatrzańska is located the biggest geotermal pool complex in Poland (1000 metres above the sea level). However, there are many other places in Poland, known for its thermal water: Chochołów (close to Zakopane), Uniejów (Central Poland) or Solec-Zdrój (close to the Holy Cross Mountains). Podhale’s thermal water rises from the depth of 2.500 metres aproximately and in the pools the tempreture is between 28° C and 36°. As it has been shown, baths in thermas pools have a beneficial effect on the entire organism. Morover it is very relaxing  to rest like that after the whole day of skiing.

La mejor idea de descansar durente el invierno polaco es visitar las piscinas termales de Podhale - una región en la parte sur de Polonia, a los pies de los montes Tatra. Allí se encuentra el complejo de piscinas geotérmicas más grande de Polonia, en la pintoresca ciudad de Bukowina Tatrzańska (situado a 1000 metros sobre el nivel del mar). Sin embargo, también hay otros sitios en Polonia, conocidos por sus aguas termales: Chochołów (cerca de Zakopane), Uniejów (Polonia central) o Solec Zdrój (cerca de la sierra de Santa Cruz). Las aguas termales de Podhale vienen desde la profundidad de más o menos 2.500 metros, en las piscinas tienen la temperatura entre los 28° C y los 36° C. Se ha demostrado que los baños en las piscinas termales tienen un efecto beneficioso sobre el organismo entero, además es muy relajante descansar de esta manera después de un día de esquiar.

The World’s Largest Brick Fortress/ La fortaleza de ladrillo más grande del mundo

Located in the Northern Poland, the Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork  impresses with its fascinating history and incredible architecture. It was originally constructed in 13-thcentury by the Teutonic Knights (German Catholic religious order of crusaders) to strenght their control after the conquest of Old Prussia. The famous gothic castle consists of a High Castle, Middle Castle and Low Castle, surrounded by three defensive walls and moats and is considered to be the largest brick fortress in the world measured by land area. Since the year 1997 Malbork Castle is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Situado en el norte de Polonia, el Castillo de la Orden de los Caballeros Teutónicos, impresiona con su fascinante historia e arquitectura increíble. Fue construido originalmente en el siglo XIII por los Caballeros Teutónicos (orden alemán de carácter religioso-militar) para reforzarse el control después de la conquista de Prusia. El famoso castillo gótico está formado por tres castillos, rodeados de tres potentes murallas y fosos. Se le considera el castillo de ladrillo de estilo gótico más grande del mundo por superficie de área. El Castillo de Malbork fue declarado por la UNESCO Patrimonio de la Humanidad en el año 1997.
