Michelin Red Guide recommendations in Poland

The first Michelin Red guide was published in 1900. The prophetic words of André Michelin said: “This guide was born with the century, and will last as long as the century does.” And so it was… Micheline has it’s own team of local, professional, anonymous inspectors, who visit hundreds of restaurants every year, selecting only the best ones in each category.

This year the first restaurant in Poland has been awarded with a star – it’s Atelier Amaro in Warsaw. The inspectors were enchanted by the chef’s (Wojciech Modest Amaro) preparation of local products, his innovative cooking style and original combination of ingredients. In 2012 this restaurant won a title of a Rising Star.

In 2013 Michelin’s recommendations got 40 restaurants in Poland– 21 restaurants from Warsaw and 19 from Krakow. All listed restaurants, regardless of their star - status, receive also another designation - "fork and spoon", as a subjective reflection of the overall comfort and quality of the restaurant.
